Terrier mix dogs are fun, loving and great companions but when you get on their bad side lookout.  It’s like mighty mice with an attitude.  I’m share you’ve heard that it’s not the size of the dog in the fight that counts.  It’s the size of the fight in dogs that makes all the difference.  Terrier mix dogs can chew your ankles with the best of them.  Some may say that aggression in dogs is common.  However, this is more communication differences then anything else.  Your furry friend does everything for a reason.  Remember that!  Its understanding those reasons that will help you to see their actions for what they really are.

Once your pet feels the need to defend themselves or their territory is when they exhibit aggressive tendencies.  An example of this is when a person may intend a friendly jester but your furry family memeber may perceive that behavior as threatening or possibly even intimidating.  So, learning about your dog’s tendencies is important to make your home a happy place once again.  

The first key to helping your furry friend deal with their aggression is finding out the root of the cause.  Terrier mix dogs have been known to react differently “Mr. Jackal and Mr. Hide” when there are medical issues.  If your pet is acting out of the norm then a quick vet visit is recommended.  If everything checks out and your pet is still acting aggressive towards strangers, family and other pets then quick and easy measures can be taken.  A common dog tendency is to act aggressive towards strangers.  This is because the dog has not been socialized.  There are great books on helping your pet to be more social.  It’s always best to start when they’re a puppy.  Constantly touching them and taking them to parks where other people can show them love as well.  If your furry friend is grown up it’s not too late and you’re not alone.  

The second key to changing terrier mix dogs’ behavior is taking constant actions and letting them know that you’re in control.  Your pet can be a wonderful addition to your family once they are well mannered.  Understand, that you were not born with manners and neither were terrier mix dogs.  A few exercises in manners everyday and soon you’ll see the difference.  Always reward good behavior with a treat and some love.  Of course, give them a time out for poor behavior.  Nothing excessive and over the top.  Simply do constant daily actions and let mighty mice know who’s in charge.

The final key is having patients, understanding and loving your furry friend.  You’ll soon see the difference in no time at all.
